Mutual of Omaha Guaranteed Whole Life Cost by Age (2026)

In short

Mutual of Omaha's Guaranteed Whole Life costs about $57.79 a month for a 60-year-old man and $47.47 for a woman buying $10,000, with no health questions and no exam, for anyone 45 to 85. The figures below are from the carrier's monthly rate chart effective August 1, 2026. The policy is graded: a natural death in the first two years returns the premiums paid plus 10 percent, and the full amount is paid after that or for an accident at any time.

Guaranteed Whole Life is Mutual of Omaha's policy for people who have been declined or who know the health questions would be a problem: active cancer, dialysis, oxygen, dementia, a recent stroke. Everyone who applies inside the age range is accepted, which is exactly why it costs more and why the first two years are graded. If you can answer a short set of health questions, the same carrier's Living Promise is cheaper at every age; if you cannot, this is the honest price of certainty.

The Nectar application prices final expense coverage in about two minutes: pick the amount, answer the health questions once, and it shows the monthly cost and which insurer and class you qualify for before you commit to anything.

What the graded benefit means

For the first two policy years a death from natural causes pays back every premium paid plus 10 percent, not the face amount. A death from an accident pays the full face amount from the first day. From the third year on, every cause pays in full. The two-year window is how the carrier can accept applicants it knows nothing about; it is not a reason to avoid the policy, but it is a reason to buy it sooner rather than later if the health questions elsewhere are already closed to you.

Guaranteed Whole Life versus Living Promise at 60

A 60-year-old man pays $57.79 a month here against $43.76 for $10,000 of Living Promise level benefit, which pays in full from day one. The difference over ten years is about $1,683.60. If there is any chance of passing the health questions, apply for Living Promise first; a decline there costs nothing, and this policy is still available afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Mutual of Omaha guaranteed whole life per month?

For $10,000: about $42.81 at 50, $57.79 at 60, $86.70 at 70 and $166.52 at 80 for a man; women pay roughly 20 percent less. The table above covers 45 to 85 and three amounts.

Are there really no health questions?

None. Acceptance is guaranteed for ages 45 to 85 as long as the application is completed and the first premium is paid.

Does it pay the full amount right away?

For accidental death, yes. For death from natural causes in the first two years it pays premiums plus 10 percent; after two years it pays in full.

Can I buy more than $25,000?

Not on this policy. People who need more and can answer health questions usually combine a larger simplified-issue policy, such as Living Promise, or a term policy if they are under 60; the final expense versus term guide covers the choice.

Will the premium ever change?

No. It is set at issue and fixed for life.
